Appenzeller Spitzhauben Characteristics:

  • Hybrid:  No
  • Clean or Feathered Legs:  Clean
  • Egg Color:  White
  • Egg Size:  Medium-large
  • Adult Color:  Golden-buff with creamy-white spangling
  • Notable Characteristics: Like all Spitzhaubens, the Chamois variety has a forward-pointing crest of feathers resembling the traditional "spitzhauben" bonnet worn by women in Appenzell, Switzerland, paired with a V-shaped (horn) comb.
